How do US, UK and EU clothing sizes convert?
Each region uses a different scale on top of the same body measurements. A women's Medium is roughly US 8–10, UK 12–14 and EU 40–42; a men's Medium shirt is about a 38–40 inch chest, or EU 50–52. Because brands vary, always check the garment's measurement (bust/chest in cm) against your own — that's the most reliable guide, which is why our chart lists the cm range for every size.
How do I measure myself for the right size?
Use a soft tape measure over light clothing. For tops and dresses, measure the fullest part of your bust/chest, keeping the tape level. For the waist, measure the narrowest point; for hips, the fullest part. Compare the cm result to the chart's measurement column rather than guessing your usual letter — bodies and brands both vary, and the number doesn't lie.
What size am I if I wear EU 40?
For women's clothing, EU 40 is about a Medium — roughly US 8 and UK 12, with a bust around 90–96 cm. For shoes, EU 40 is about a US 9 / UK 7 (foot ≈ 25.5 cm). Pick your category above and select EU 40 to see the exact equivalents.
Why do sizes differ so much between brands?
There's no single legal standard for clothing sizes, so each brand sets its own fit — a Medium in one label can equal a Large in another (this is often called vanity sizing). The fix is to shop by measurement, not by letter.
